| System [main menu] | |
| Node Name | Set the node name of the node. |
| Hardware Key | This is unique 32 digit sequence that is assigned during manufacture of the system, and distinguishes this node to the Qorvus management system. It must not be changed. |
| Node Operating Mode | Gateway mode - this is used to connect the network to the Internet and back-office. At least one is need on each network. Wireless mode - this is used when the node will operate as a wireless repeater. |
| Annouce this Gateway to Mesh | If the node is operating as a gateway it will announce itself to the other nodes as the route to the back-office and internet. under some circumstances such as a second gateway used only for monitoring, yuou may want to turn this off. |
| Max. Local Mesh Node Connections | This will tell the system how many bridge connections (local 1 hop connections) it can make with nearby nodes. Can be useful if you are in a dense node system and only want to connect to certain devices. |
| Local Caching DNS Server | This is the DNS system for the mesh and must be active for domain names to be resolved correctly. |
| Forward All DNS Requests to Gateway | If you want the gateway node to automatically forward all DNS requests to the next DNS server up select this item. |
| Internal System Watchdog | This system performs checks every eight minutes on the individual node to determine if the system is running properly, and takes various corrective action including a reboot if needed. To avoid unnecessary reboots, this function should be left OFF during initial installation, and turned ON only after your network has been fully installed and tested. |
| Use Yahoo for testing | This will require the Internal Watchdog to test for upstream html connectivity to Yahoo, and reboot the node if connectivity cannot be established after two 10-minute cycles. |
| PPPoE Server | This was used in older systems for ADSL login functions. It is no longer being used in the newer systems. |
| Hybrid Protocol | This is not used but is left in for backwards compatability with the legacy WIANA system. |
| GPS Coordinates | GPS coordinates can be specified for your nodes installation if the node mapping capability is desired. The map can be accessed on the status page. Proper format is in Decimal Degrees (e.g. N+,S-,E+,W- : 122.0W by 40.45N would be -122.0 and 40.45) |
